ADEGA SAN SALVADOR DE SOUTOMAIOR | Noelia Bebelia Albariño 2016

ADEGA SAN SALVADOR DE SOUTOMAIOR | Noelia Bebelia Albariño 2016

“Parallels are frequently drawn between Galicia and Burgundy—for the freshness and restraint of the wines, the small vineyard parcels and distinctiveness of site. But wine has been Galicia’s ancestral heritage since the Roman conquest. Such tradition requires no comparisons.”
— Simón Barcia

Husband and wife team Noelia Calvar and Simón Barcia personify a new generation in Spain that is writing a transformative page in the country’s viticultural narrative. Noelia Bebelia, the single-parcel Albariño they began producing in 2014, is rapidly making the tiny sub-zone of Soutomaior a focal point of Galicia’s D.O. Rías Baixas appellation. Outside Europe, a small allocation of Noelia Bebelia from Adega San Salvador de Soutomaior can be found exclusively in Utah. Amazing but true.
