Pago SLC Rolls Out the Red Carpet in Utah for an Iconic Chianti Classico Estate

Scott Evans and Stephanie Cuadra team up for an evening with the wines of Querciabella

SALT LAKE CITY– Querciabella, one of Italy’s most celebrated family-owned wineries, is turning its attention to Utah, with an exclusive wine dinner on Saturday, September 20th—setting in motion a relationship with a newly prioritized market. A global benchmark for land stewardship and coveted fine wines with rigorous organic viticultural practices since the late 1980s, Querciabella is eager to address a long-overlooked region as local demand positions Utah as a priority destination for world-class producers. The intimate evening, hosted by Pago Restaurant Group founder and sommelier Scott Evans with special guest Stephanie Cuadra—Querciabella advisory board member—marks an exciting milestone for Utah's food and wine scene.

A five-course tasting menu underscores the natural synergy between Pago's seasonally inspired cuisine and Querciabella's sustainable winemaking, while featuring locally sourced ingredients perfectly matched with an exquisite selection of Querciabella wines, such as Batàr—one of Italy's most age-worthy whites—and the estate’s flagship Camartina, an early protagonist of Supertuscan history in Chianti Classico.

"Querciabella represents everything we value at Pago—a culture of authenticity, sustainability and pushing boundaries," says Evans, who paved the way for Salt Lake City's farm-to-table movement with Pago's opening in 2009. With over 20 years of sommelier experience and formal training from the Court of Master Sommeliers and Wine & Spirits Education Trust, Evans is the visionary behind an impressive list of wine-centric eateries that also includes Finca, Casot, Emigration Café and Pizza Bar on Regent.

Stephanie Cuadra brings unique perspective to the evening as both a Querciabella insider and Utah wine industry leader. A Los Angeles native and citizen of Italy, Cuadra founded Terrestoria Wine Imports in Salt Lake City, curating a niche portfolio of Italian and Spanish wines for Utah's state-controlled market. Her connection to Querciabella spans over 15 years—having led worldwide communications and business development from 2010 to 2016, before joining the winery's advisory board late last year.

While Querciabella wines are imported nationally by Maisons Marques & Domaines, Terrestoria serves as a strategic link between Querciabella and MMD in Utah—leveraging established relationships within the state's hospitality industry and private consumer channels. Previously available only to buyers who actively sought the wines out through the state’s special order system, Querciabella now benefits from dedicated local representation aimed at building a lasting connection with one of the most dynamic wine markets of the Intermountain West.
