White Grenache rarely gets top billing—but in Terra Alta's limestone hills, Garnatxa Blanca is the whole story. Carmen Ferrer and her daughter Pili Sanmartín farm two small parcels of 70+ year-old vines, the roots of which have had decades to coalesce with panal limestone soils. Cold maceration, wild yeast fermentation in French oak and six months of aging in the same barrels result in a white with substantial weight and presence. Organic farming, 4,868 bottles made and an estate with two centuries of family history.
