Tucked between gentle hills on the Tyrrhenian coast, Podere Conca farms an unusual blend of Viognier, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc on sandy soils that drain well and keep the vines honest. The maritime setting does the rest — diurnal swings, sea air, and steady ventilation that preserves the aromatics that make Viognier worth growing in the first place. Four months in stainless steel, two in bottle, and nothing in between to get in the way. As a back vintage, it has had time to settle into something even more interesting — floral, saline, and showing the kind of quiet evolution that only comes with a little patience. Refreshingly off-script for Tuscany.
