At the helm is Paola Riccio—outspoken, vivacious, and a force of nature—whose decidedly personal winemaking philosophy places her among the most compelling and innovative women working in natural wine today. Guided by conviction rather than convention, Riccio coaxes from 100% Pallagrello Bianco grown on organic, hand-harvested parcels at elevations of 220–270 m.s.l. in clay and fine gravel soils a wine that candidly reflects the conditions, time and place of its origin. With only 1,200 bottles produced, this rare 2017 is drinking beautifully nearly a decade on—a testament to both the vintage and Riccio's uncompromising vision.
